# Current Limitations

Despite Bitcoin's dominance, existing cross-chain solutions for BTC assets face significant security concerns. Current approaches, such as multi-signature models used in wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC, TBTC, etc.), have been met with skepticism due to their centralized trust models and the risk of asset mismanagement. These limitations have hindered the free movement of Bitcoin's vast liquidity across different ecosystems, restricting its potential in DeFi and other applications.
